| Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. |

Psalm 1
Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, *
nor stand in the way of sinners,
nor sit in the seat of scoffers.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, *
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
bearing fruit in due season
and whose leaf does not wither. *
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so; *
but they are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, *
nor the sinner in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, *
but the way of the wicked will perish.
Composite Psalm 27
The LORD is my light and my salvation; *
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life; *
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers advance against me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and my foes, *
it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me, *
my heart shall not fear;
Though war should arise against me, *
even then I will be confident.
One thing I have asked of the LORD, *
that will I seek after:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life, *
to behold the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter; *
he will conceal me in the cover of his tent;
he will set me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up *
above my enemies all around me,
And I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy; *
I will sing and make music to the LORD.
Hear my voice, O LORD, when I cry aloud; *
have mercy on me and answer me.
You have said, “Seek my face.” *
My heart says to you,
“Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
Hide not your face from me,
nor turn your servant away in anger. *
You have been my help;
do not abandon me nor forsake me
O God of my salvation.
Though my father and my mother forsake me, *
the LORD will take me in.
Teach me your way, O LORD, *
and lead me on a level path
because of my enemies.
Deliver me not into the will of my adversaries; *
for false witnesses have risen against me;
they breathe out violence.
I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD *
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; *
be strong and let your heart take courage;
wait for the LORD.
Composite Psalm 28
To you, O LORD, I will cry; *
my rock, be not silent to me,
lest, if you be silent to me, *
I become like those who go down to the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplications, *
when I cry to you for help,
when I lift up my hands *
toward your holy sanctuary.
Do not drag me away with the wicked, *
with the workers of iniquity,
who speak peace with their neighbors *
while evil is in their hearts.
Give to them according to their deeds *
and according to the evil of their endeavors;
give to them according to the work of their hands; *
render to them their due reward.
Because they do not regard the works of the LORD
nor the operation of his hands,
he will tear them down and not build them up.
Blessed be the LORD. *
For he has heard the voice of my supplications.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; *
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart greatly rejoices, *
and with my song I will thank him.
The LORD is the strength of his people; *
and the saving defender of his anointed.
Oh, save your people and bless your inheritance. *
Shepherd them also and carry them forever.

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you, and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
