Your hands have made me and fashioned me; *
give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.
May those who fear you see me and rejoice, *
because I have hoped in your word.
I know, O LORD, that your judgements are righteous, *
that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
O let your steadfast love be my comfort, *
according to your word to your servant.
Let your tender mercy come to me, that I may live; *
for your law is my delight.
Let the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me with falsehood; *
but as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.
Let those who fear you turn to me, *
and they shall know your testimonies.
May my heart be blameless regarding your decrees, *
that I may not be put to shame!
My soul languishes for your salvation; *
I have my hope in your word.
My eyes long for your promise; *
While I ask, "When will you comfort me?”
I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, *
yet I have not forgotten your decrees.
How many days must your servant endure? *
When will you bring judgement against my pursuers?
The arrogant have dug pits to trap me; *
they do not live in accord with your law.
All your commandments show constancy; *
help me, for they persecute me with falsehood!
They have almost destroyed me from the earth, *
but I have not forsaken your precepts.
Give me life, in accordance with your steadfast love, *
that I may keep the testimony of your mouth.
Forever, O LORD, *
your word stands firm in the heavens.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations; *
you established the earth, and it stands fast.
In accordance with your laws they stand this day, *
for all things are your servants.
If your law had not been my delight, *
I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget your precepts, *
for by them you have given me life.
I am yours; save me, *
for I have sought your precepts.
The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, *
but I shall ponder your testimonies.
I have seen a limit of all perfection, *
but your commandment is exceedingly broad.
