Confession of Sin
|Officiant||Let us humbly confess our sins to Almighty God.|
Almighty and most merciful Father,
we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
we have followed too much the deceits and desires of our own hearts.
we have offended against your holy laws.
we have left undone those things which we ought to have done,
and we have done those things which we ought not to have done;
and apart from your grace, there is no health in us.
O Lord, have mercy upon us.
Spare all those who confess their faults.
Restore all those who are penitent, according to your promises declared to all people in Christ Jesus our Lord;
And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake,
that we may now live a godly, righteous, and sober life,
to the glory of your holy Name. Amen.
|A brief silence is kept|
|Officiant||Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.|
|Officiant||O Lord, open our lips;|
|All||And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.|
|Officiant||O God, make speed to save us.|
|All||O Lord, make haste to help us.|
|Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.|
|Officiant||Praise the Lord.|
|All||The Lord's name be praised.|

The Psalm or Psalms AppointedThe appointed Psalm is read together
53:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
Save me, O God, by your Name; *
vindicate me by your power.
Hear my prayer, O God; *
open your ear to the words of my mouth.
For the arrogant have risen against me, *
and violent men seek after my soul;
those who have not set God before them.
Behold, God is my helper; *
it is the Lord who sustains my life.
Turn back unto my enemies their evil; *
in your faithfulness, utterly destroy them.
Willingly will I sacrifice to you; *
I will give thanks to your Name, O LORD, for it is good,
for it has delivered me from every trouble, *
and my eyes have seen the ruin of my enemies.Composite
55:1 Give ear to my prayer, O God,
|All||Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.|

My soul magnifies the Lord,
From behold, from now on.,
54 He also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens. 55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and it happens. 56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
57 “And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? 58 As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. 59 I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the very last penny.”
13:1 There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”
6 And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8 And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. 9 Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”ESV

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
|Officiant||The Lord be with you|
|People||And with your spirit.|
|Officiant||Let us pray.|
|Officiant||Lord, have mercy|
|All||Christ, have mercy|
|Lord, have mercy|
|All||Our Father, who art in heaven,|
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
|Officiant||O Lord, show your mercy upon us;|
|All||And grant us your salvation.|
|Officiant||O Lord, guide those who govern us;|
|All||And lead us in the way of justice and truth.|
|Officiant||Clothe your ministers with righteousness;|
|All||And let your people sing with joy.|
|Officiant||O Lord, save your people;|
|All||And bless your inheritance.|
|Officiant||Give peace in our time, O Lord;|
|All||And defend us by your mighty power.|
|Officiant||Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten;|
|All||Nor the hope of the poor be taken away.|
|Officiant||Create in us clean hearts, O God;|
|All||And take not your Holy Spirit from us.|
|Collect||Merciful God, who sent your messengers the prophets to preach repentance and prepare the way for our salvation: Give us grace to heed their warnings and forsake our sins, that we may greet with joy the coming of Jesus Christ our Redeemer; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.|
|Collect||Most holy God, the source of all good desires, all right judgments, and all just works: Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, so that our minds may be fixed on the doing of your will, and that we, being delivered from the fear of all enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the mercies of Christ Jesus our Savior. Amen.|
|Collect||Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen.|
|Almighty God, Father of all mercies,|
we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks
for all your goodness and loving-kindness
to us and to all whom you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts
we may show forth your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before you
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
|A Prayer of St. Chrysostom||Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication to you; and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his Name you will be in the midst of them: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting. Amen.|
|Officiant||Let us bless the Lord.|
|All||Thanks be to God.|
|Officiant||The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen. |
